Company to Serve as Product Lead on KCG Team for $6 Billion BPA
Oct. 3, 2013, Reston, VA – Govplace, a leading value-added reseller and solution provider for the public sector, today announced that it will serve as the security solutions product lead for Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), a recent awardee and one of 17 prime contractors for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) vehicle. This government-wide Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) has a potential overall value of $6 billion over a five-year period of performance, assuming all option years are exercised.
This contract vehicle provides all federal agencies as well as state, local, tribal and territorial governments with specialized information technology (IT) services and tools to help implement DHS’ CDM program. CDM aims to defend government networks from cyber attaches by providing continuous monitoring, diagnosis and mitigation tools, as well as Continuous Monitoring as a Services (CMaaS) capabilities.
According to Dan Smith, Govplace’s Vice President for Technology, “Our solution reduces deployment time by using a CDM virtualized security platform which aggregates data from sensors and integrates with the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and ForeScout CounterACT Manager product suite. This comprehensive continuous monitoring approach allows the government to maintain a proactive posture, rather than simply reacting to cyber attacks after they occur. Rapid deployment allows agencies to more efficiently achieve full protection.”
As the catalog management company, Govplace will be responsible for all products deployed by the KCG team, including McAfee, ForeScout, Veracode, AppSec and other technologies as required by the government under the CDM/CMaaS vehicle. Govplace has an 18-year history of serving the public sector exclusively, with an extensive and proven reach into both Federal (FED) and State, Local and Education (SLED) markets.
