Webinar: Understanding and Optimizing Workloads for Cloud Deployments

By | Events, News | No Comments

By following 3 simple steps, federal agencies can be on their way to optimizing workloads for cloud deployments.  First, Assess. Identifying workloads to move to the cloud can be tricky – not all are created equal!  There may be dozens or even hundreds of applications running in your agency, and now there is temptation to move to the cloud as quickly as possible.  However, the assessment and discovery stage is a critical initial step.  Next, Analyze.  A unified approach to optimizing workloads can indeed reduce costs, simplify business processes, and achieve operational excellence.  From business value, to security and compliance, analyzing the impacts the migration will have on the business lays the foundation for a comprehensive strategy.  Finally, Act.  Now that workloads have been assessed, and the process has been analyzed, its time to move the workloads confidently.

Join us for a 1 hour webcast on February 28th at 2PM, Understanding and Optimizing Workloads for Cloud Deployments, to learn more about choosing the right workloads and drive early success in your cloud adoption.  Click here for more information, or to register.

If It’s Broke, Fix It!

Govplace’s Tina Scogin recently spoke at the 2016 APMP Conference in a session titled, “If It’s Broke, Fix It!”

Here is a brief summary of the session:

Proposal leadership isn’t easy. You are expected to make the process work, as long as no one else has to change. Working with “we’ve always done it that way” writers, reviewers, and stakeholders can be maddening. It’s a wonder more proposal managers aren’t in jail… for murder. The struggle is real. This workshop covers strategies for transitioning nay-sayers into advocates, review examples of successful lessons learned with tangible results, and strategize solutions to challenges that won’t overwhelm the very individuals you want to help change. Come share, discover, and inspire each other.

Tina Scogin, CF APMP, is Senior Capture Manager at Govplace, a small federal system integrator.  Tina uses 25 years’ diverse experience and out-of-the-box creativity to manage strategic and tactical proposal efforts. Tina has 18 years’ direct federal proposal experience serving in the full range of proposal positions on hundreds of procurements ranging from $20K to $20B. Tina has managed 2- to 25-member proposal teams with as many teaming partners for small, medium, and large federal contractors in the D.C. area.

Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 8, 2010

The 3rd Annual Govplace Federal Agency & Industry Golf Tournament was held on May 21, 2010 at the 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, VA.

There were 120 golfers from several federal agencies and manufacturer partner companies participated in this charitable event. Proceeds from this year’s golf tournament will be donated to two worthy causes – The Armed Forces Foundation and The Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health (NIH).

The Armed Forces Foundation (www.armedforcesfoundation.org) is a non-profit organization whose charter is to provide assistance to members of the military community and their families – such as medical bills, legal fees, housing, and bereavement assistance.

Generous golfers donated 3 large bins of non-perishable food for The Children’s Inn, and purchased mulligans and 50/50 raffle tickets, with proceeds being donated to the two worthy causes.

After registration and a continental breakfast, golfers played a scramble format at the recently completed golf course. After golfing, attendees were treated to a few words by Adam Robinson, CEO of Govplace, Kathy Russell from Children’s Inn at NIH and James Fenlon from the Armed Forces Foundation.

During the awards ceremony, the winning foursome, comprised of Brian Kelley, Jerry Dowell, Brett Pfrommer and Don Elhussen, each received a new golf bag and a free round of golf at 1757 Golf Club. Second place winners, Scott Beard, Jeff Kavulik, KC Cook and Scott Hopkins, received gift certificates from Golf Galaxy as well as a prize bag.
