Govplace Insights
A Culture of Growth

At Govplace, we believe that a growth mindset starts by building trust and relationships within our company. In the evolving world where hybrid and remote work are now prevalent, challenges that did not previously exist must be addressed.

Spontaneous coffee machine and water cooler chats are not always an option. So how can a company create the essential collaboration and trust? How do we break down interdepartmental walls to facilitate cooperation? Our answer; build an intentional culture.

Core Behaviors

Our employees identified ten actionable behaviors we call our Core Behaviors. This simple but effective blueprint makes our people excited to come to work and gives them focus and engagement in our culture, defining us as a team. Our investment has already shown results in how we interact with one another, with our partner community and with our customers. Intentionality and a growth mindset can do wonders in bringing people together.

Be a Champion of Govplace

Next, we decided to build on our most valuable resource, our employees. Our leaders created meaningful Employee Development Plans with every individual on their team. By working in partnership to create these plans, we are investing in our people to give them clear pathways to achieve their own personal and professional goals. In parallel, we adopted several new retention and recognition programs. These demonstrate our understanding of what our team‘s loyalty, effort and drive mean to the company’s success. From annual awards for Employee and Salesperson(s) of the Year, to quarterly Service awards and recognition for demonstrating our Core Behaviors in a tangible way, we are building a culture that is consistent, collaborative and supportive.

Continuing Our Legacy of
Doing What Matters

Highlighting a Core Behavior, and one of the most important things that any company can do is to give back to the community that supports us and allows us to thrive. In 2023, we announced our “Doing What Matters” Policy. This offers every employee 8 hours of paid time to offer to charitable organizations that are important to our culture – The Children’s Inn at NIH, Animal or Humane Society’s or Veterans organizations. This year a group of Govplace employees led the effort to clean up the playground at The Children’s Inn at NIH before it‘s re-opening. Govplace was a part of building the original Children’s Inn playground, so this activity was a full circle moment that brought our team even closer together.

A Clearer Vision

Success requires consistent, clear corporate messaging. Our vision gives our employees a simple message to deliver to our customers and demonstrates the value we bring. Customer centric and mission focused, our vision to provide insights for our customers and solve their technology challenges of tomorrow resonates in an environment where technology changes faster than our customers can adopt it. Having a growth mindset requires us to continue expanding. After looking within, we began the process of rebuilding outside our organization. Leaning on a strong network and combined 50+ years of experience in Federal Solution Selling, we reached out to partners and vendors, spending time discussing our vision as a company and our upcoming investments. Doubling down on our strategic partnerships, investing in training and strategic resources to support the solutions we provide and rolling out our plan to bring this to the market are the next steps in the transformation that will be ongoing for many years to come.

Growth is tangible but it is born from a mindset of learning, development, investment, and belief. What our team is building at Govplace emphasizes all these key elements and has started us on a path to achieving our most ambitious goals yet.
