Govplace Donates $67,500 to The Children’s Inn at NIH

Govplace Golf Tournament Proceeds Donated to The Children’s Inn to Meet the Needs of Children and their Families Participating in Medical Research at NIH and Help Reduce the Burden of Illness

As 2019 draws to a close and holiday celebrations are in full swing, we are reminded that community is so very important.

This is one reason we are so pleased to be making a $67,500 donation to The Children’s Inn at NIH. Govplace has proudly supported The Children’s Inn for more than a decade.

While the Charity Golf Tournament is our biggest annual fundraiser, Govplace gives to the Inn throughout the year.

Over the years, Govplace has donated and installed technology at various Inn facilities and has even sponsored the Annual Gala. Govplace employees have volunteered to cook for and serve meals to families, conduct arts and crafts events for the children, and participate as individuals in numerous community service projects.

Giving of our time and talents in support of the Inn is part of our core DNA as a company.

Govplace chooses to support The Children’s Inn because it gives families the ability to participate in research and studies that could not be conducted without the Inn’s help. Innovation in medicine to find cures to childhood diseases and a better understanding of how to treat them is a gift to all humanity. We do business with National Institutes of Health (NIH) because its mission provides this kind of research to the world. We are proud supporters of both NIH and the Children’s Inn.

“Our partnership with Govplace is very special,” Jennie Lucca, Chief Executive Officer of The Children’s Inn at NIH, said. “Govplace employees bring so much support and joy to our children and families through all they do and give. We could not accomplish what we do and provide this level of support to families and their seriously ill children if it wasn’t for the significant support of generous corporate partners like Govplace. Thank you for caring so deeply about providing children access to the NIH clinical trials that are their best hope. Your support makes a tremendous difference!”

The mission of The Children’s Inn is to fully and consistently meet the needs of children and families participating in groundbreaking research at the National Institutes of Health. With support from caring community partners like Govplace, The Children’s Inn provides a free, family-centered “place like home” to more than 1,500 seriously ill children and their families every year with the goals of making childhood possible and reducing the burden of illness through therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming.
